Job Title: Learning Support Assistant – Vocational & Trade Courses
Location: Bromley
Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Start Date: September 2025
About the Role
A mainstream college in Bromley is looking for a hands-on Learning Support Assistant to work alongside students with additional needs on vocational trade courses, including construction, electrical and bricklaying. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, workshop-based environments and wants to support learners developing real-world trade skills.
You will provide 1:1 and small group support within practical sessions, helping students work safely, follow instructions and gain confidence using tools and equipment. The role is active and varied, suited to someone comfortable in construction-style settings rather than a classroom-only role.
Key Responsibilities
Support learners with additional needs during practical trade and workshop sessions
Assist with safe use of tools, machinery and materials
Reinforce instructions and support task completion on site and in workshops
Promote independence, confidence and employability skills
Work closely with tutors and support staff to ensure safe and effective learning
The Ideal Candidate
Experience supporting learners in vocational, construction or practical environments
Understanding of health and safety within workshop or trade settings
Practical, reliable and confident working in hands-on learning spaces
Able to motivate learners and build positive working relationships
Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach
