Passive Fire Surveyor – Compartmentation & Fire Doors
Location: South of England (Some Nationwide Travel Required)
Salary: £45,000 + Travel Bonuses ( Over £50,000)
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and growing passive fire protection specialist with a strong national reputation built on technical accuracy, compliance and clear client communication. The business operates primarily across the South of England but works on a national basis, with occasional travel required across the UK supported by additional travel bonuses on top of base salary.
This is a permanent position offering long-term stability, a varied workload, and the opportunity to work on a strong pipeline of secured projects across a range of environments.
The Role
As Passive Fire Surveyor, you will carry out detailed compartmentation and fire door surveys across a variety of live environments, primarily based in the South of England with occasional travel further afield as required. You will identify defects and compliance issues, produce clear and accurate reports, and work closely with the wider project team to ensure passive fire compliance is maintained to the highest standard across all sites.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed compartmentation surveys including fire stopping, cavity barriers, penetration seals and passive fire systems
Carry out thorough fire door surveys including full compliance checks, gap tolerances, ironmongery and intumescent seals
Identify defects and non-compliance issues in line with current regulations, standards and manufacturer guidelines
Produce clear, accurate and client-ready survey reports using digital reporting systems
Liaise professionally with clients, site teams and project managers
Work primarily across the South of England, with occasional travel to sites nationwide
Manage own workload independently across multiple live sites
What We're Looking For
Proven experience conducting passive fire surveys covering both compartmentation and fire doors
Strong technical knowledge of fire stopping, compartmentation and fire door compliance standards
Experience producing detailed, accurate survey reports
Willingness and flexibility to travel nationwide as required
Knowledge of FIRAS, BM TRADA or IFC standards — desirable
FDIS or equivalent fire door inspection qualification — desirable
CSCS Card — desirable
Full UK Driving Licence — required
