Axcis Education is proud to be working in partnership with a large, well-established SEND school in the St Helens area, supporting pupils aged 4–14 with a wide range of needs. These include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and pupils with complex medical and learning needs.
We are seeking a caring, patient, and committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join the school from late February / early March. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide personalised support and play a meaningful role in each child’s learning, confidence, and independence.
Your Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Provide individualised support to pupils within the classroom and wider school environment
• Assist with the delivery of tailored learning and support plans created by teachers and therapists
• Support communication, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour
• Use creative and engaging approaches to encourage progress, confidence, and independence
• Work collaboratively with a warm, dedicated, and supportive multidisciplinary team
What We’re Looking For
We’re keen to hear from candidates who:
• Have a patient, compassionate, child-centred approach
• Ideally have experience working with SEND, though this is not essential
• Are flexible, adaptable, and confident working in a dynamic school setting
• Can support children of varying ages, needs, and abilities
• Bring enthusiasm, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference
