Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Epilepsy)
Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm
Pay: £89 a day
Location: London, SW18
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our educational team in supporting a student with epilepsy. This role requires a compassionate individual who is trained in understanding and managing epilepsy, with a commitment to creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for the student.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-to-one support to the student with epilepsy, ensuring they are integrated into classroom activities.
• Monitor the student's health and well-being, and administer care as needed according to their individual healthcare plan.
• Liaise with teachers, parents, and healthcare professionals to implement strategies that facilitate the student's educational development.
• Assist in adapting lessons and materials to meet the student's special needs, ensuring accessibility and engagement.
• Maintain accurate records of the student's progress, health interventions, and any incidents, always ensuring confidentiality.
• Attend to the student during seizures, following proper protocol to ensure their safety, and provide post-seizure care until they recover.
• Support the student in their social and emotional development, encouraging positive interactions with peers.
Candidate Requirements:
• Experience in supporting children with special needs, particularly epilepsy.
• First Aid trained with specific training in managing seizures desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, resilience, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of young people.
• A relevant NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools is preferred.
