Description

Axcis Education continues to support a large all-age special school within the Erdington area. Following the successful placements through Axcis for the 2024/25 academic year the school has approached Axcis to support their staffing for children and young people with Exceptional Special Needs.

The schools caters to individuals aged 4 to 19 years with a main diagnosis of Autism, their specific needs vary vastly, however, examples include challenging and/or distressing behaviour and non-verbal communication as well as individuals facing social emotional and mental health challenges additional to a primary diagnosis of Autism.

Due to the high needs of the pupil, the team of teaching assistants within the class will rotate in and out of working with the pupil and other 1:1 or small groups throughout the day, this decision has been made by the school as they understand the role would be too tough for one person all day. With this in mind the ability to work independently and as part of a team is key.
