Axcis are pleased to be working with a mainstream primary school in North Somerset who are looking to recruit an experienced teaching assistant to provide general classroom support, work 1:1 with assigned pupils and lead small group interventions.

About the Role:

The position is a mix of general in-class support, one to one, and small group work. As a teaching assistant in a mainstream primary setting, each day will vary and no day will be the same, but generally you can expect to support with the following:

• Setting up learning resources, displays, and activities.
• Provide targeted support to groups of children.
• Help with classroom management, behaviour support, and engagement.
• Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
• Work closely with individuals with various special educational needs and disabilities.
• Monitor children during playtime to ensure safety and positive interactions.
• Oversee children in the dining hall, supporting with eating if necessary.
• Attend staff or SENCO meetings if scheduled.
• Communicate with parents/carers.

Key Details:

Salary: £89 per day
Hours: 8.15am – 3.30pm
Contract Type: Full-time with potential for permanent placement for the right candidate
