Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)?
Axcis Education is working in partnership with a multi-site primary school in BS7, Bristol, to recruit a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant for the full academic year starting in September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a welcoming and inclusive school community, supporting pupils who require additional help with their speech, language and communication development. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils, teachers and SEND professionals to help children build confidence, develop communication skills and access learning successfully.

About the Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Speech and Language difficulties
• Support children to develop their communication, confidence and social interaction skills
• Assist with targeted interventions and personalised learning activities
• Work alongside class teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to deliver effective SEND support
• Help pupils access the curriculum through adapted activities and communication strategies
• Create a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment where children feel supported

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
• Has experience supporting children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
• Has previous experience working with children with SEND in a primary school setting (desirable but not essential)
• Is patient, compassionate and able to build strong relationships with pupils
• Has excellent communication skills and enjoys working collaboratively with staff and professionals
• Can adapt their approach to meet the individual needs of each child
• Is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning
