Teaching Assistant – Primary School
Location: LS8
Pay: from £89 per day
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
DBS: Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through Axcis)
Axcis Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Bradford. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with passionate educators and support pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and social development across a range of ages and abilities.
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience working with children in an educational or care setting (essential)
• A patient, proactive, and flexible attitude
• A strong interest in supporting learning and development in the classroom
• Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through Axcis)
• A team player with excellent communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting teachers with the delivery of lessons and classroom activities
• Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils who need extra help
• Promoting positive behaviour and assisting with emotional regulation
• Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
• Supporting social skills development and pupil wellbeing
• Collaborating with staff and following safeguarding policies
Desirable Experience:
• Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND or SEMH needs
• A basic understanding of child development and learning strategies
• Familiarity with safeguarding protocols and school policy
