Description
Teaching assistant | Kirkham area | from £89 per day | Full-time
Axcis are currently looking for an experienced and resilient teaching assistant to provide support to several children with complex needs. As an education agency providing special educational needs support to schools across the country, we are always looking to recruit enthusiastic and flexible teaching assistants.
A special educational needs school in the Kirkham area that caters to a wide range of additional needs is looking to add to their knowledgeable team by recruiting another teaching assistant to support across their classes. Previously placed staff have described this school as a nurturing environment with an outstanding team. Due to the remoteness of this school, it is preferred that the candidate can drive as public transport links are not easily accessible. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a proactive attitude and a positive nature to experience this unique and welcoming setting.
In this role as a teaching assistant, you will be providing 1:1 and class support to a variety of individuals with varying additional needs. You will need to provide a high level of support when working in the classroom to help them to access the work that has been set and you will need to be proactive in anticipating when they need regulation breaks and responding in line with the school’s approaches and each child’s individual care plan.
You will be working alongside an extensive special needs team including, the class teacher and SENCO, to ensure that the children you are supporting can access the curriculum as well as having their wider needs met. You may be asked to support small group interventions as well as 1:1 and class support.
What we are looking for:
• At least 6 months experience working with children with a range of special educational needs.
• A calm, and consistent approach to managing challenging behaviour.
• Flexibility to work during school hours -8:30am- 4pm
• Ability to reliably commute, preferably by driving, to the PR4 area.
If you are an enthusiastic and dedicated teaching assistant who wants to help children with additional needs reach their full potential, then we want to hear from you!
