Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Are you a compassionate and committed Teaching Assistant looking to make a real impact in the lives of children with Autism and ADHD? Axcis Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated professional to join our team in Trafford, primarily working in a mainstream primary school setting. This rewarding role involves providing one-to-one support and helping pupils reach their full potential in a supportive, inclusive environment.


Key Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored one-to-one support to pupils with Autism and ADHD, adapting your approach to meet each child’s unique needs.

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that supports emotional wellbeing and learning.

Collaborate with teachers to implement personalised strategies and behaviour plans in line with pupils' Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

Maintain open communication with parents, teachers and external professionals to ensure a consistent approach to support.

Assist in preparing learning resources and maintaining a well-organised classroom environment.

Monitor and report on student progress, contributing to review meetings and support plans.

Engage in ongoing training and development focused on Special Educational Needs (SEN), especially autism-specific strategies.

Follow all safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and welfare of all students.


Candidate Requirements:
Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role, ideally with children with additional needs.

Strong understanding of Autism Spectrum Condition and ADHD, preferably within a primary education context.

Empathetic, patient and enthusiastic, with a natural ability to motivate and connect with children.

Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with pupils and staff.

Knowledge of safeguarding practices and a commitment to student welfare.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant SEN experience is highly desirable.
