Job Title: Teaching Assistant – SEND School (Primary & Secondary)
Location: St Helens
Start Date: Immediate Starts Available
Contract Type: Full-Time or Part-Time roles available
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

We are proud to be recruiting for a well-established, large SEND school in St Helens, catering for students aged 4 to 16 across two dedicated sites – one for Primary and one for Secondary learners.

Our school supports pupils with a wide range of complex needs including autism (ASD), Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, SEMH, communication difficulties, and more. We take pride in offering a safe, nurturing and inspiring environment, where both students and staff are supported to grow, learn and succeed.

Your Role Will Include:

Supporting children and young people aged 4–19 with a wide variety of needs

Adapting activities and resources to meet individual EHCP goals and learning styles

Building positive relationships and supporting emotional regulation, communication and life skills

Working closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff to ensure holistic support

Engaging in hands-on, practical learning – from sensory activities to vocational training

Helping maintain a safe, inclusive and structured learning environment



We’re Looking For:

Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (in schools, care, residential, or youth settings)

A calm, resilient and empathetic approach to behaviour and communication

A proactive, team-focused attitude with flexibility to support across age groups

Confidence in working 1:1 or with small groups

A real passion for helping young people reach their full potential
