SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (L26)

Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

A friendly and inclusive primary school in the L26 area is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with children who have a range of additional needs, supporting them across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
About the Role
In this role, you will provide focused support to children with a variety of Special Educational Needs, including autism, speech and language delays, sensory processing challenges, and social-emotional difficulties. You’ll work both one-to-one and in small groups, creating a positive and structured learning environment tailored to each child's individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualised support in and out of the classroom
Help children develop their communication, social, and learning skills
Encourage emotional regulation and promote positive behaviour
Work closely with the SENCO, teaching staff, and outside specialists to implement consistent strategies
Celebrate every success and progress, no matter how small
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who is:
Experienced in supporting children or young people with additional needs (in schools or similar settings)
Confident and comfortable working with pupils aged 4–11
Calm, empathetic, and adaptable in a dynamic classroom environment
Committed to inclusive education and helping every child reach their potential
Able to provide or willing to obtain a DBS registered on the Update Service (support available)
