Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Part-Time)
Location: Andover, Hampshire
Hours: Part-Time, Thursdays and Fridays
Pay:£90 per day

Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in the heart of Andover, Hampshire. The successful candidate will work part-time on Thursdays and Fridays to provide support for our pupils, focusing on their social, emotional, academic, and behavioural needs. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with a nurturing attitude and a love for supporting children's development at a crucial stage of their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Work closely with the class teacher to create a supportive and productive classroom environment.
- Assist in the delivery of lesson plans, educational activities and group work.
- Provide targeted support to children individually or in small groups to help them meet their personal learning and development goals.
- Monitor and support the social and emotional well-being of students, intervening and reporting concerns as necessary.
- Help manage classroom behaviour, upholding school rules and promoting positive conduct.
- Maintain a safe, tidy, and inspiring classroom space conducive to learning.
- Support the assessment and recording of students' progress.
- Engage with parents/carers regarding the pupils' day-to-day classroom experiences, when appropriate.
- Collaborate with the wider school staff team to enhance the educational experience of all pupils.
- Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions.

Requirements:

- Proven experience in supporting children’s learning within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of the primary school curriculum and current educational practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of building rapport with children, colleagues, and parents.
- Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude toward managing challenging behavior.
- Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
- Enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) or willingness to undergo one.

Desirable Attributes:

- Experience in working with children who have varied learning needs, including SEND (Special Educational Needs).
