Axcis Education is recruiting for dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Southport from September. This is a full-time Teaching Assistant position, working Monday to Friday, 8:45am–3:30pm, offering a rewarding opportunity to provide specialist support for children with high additional needs within the school's Reception class.
There is also the potential for a permanent contract for the successful candidate, depending on the school's ongoing staffing needs.
About the Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will provide dedicated support to one or more children in the Reception class with a range of complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful applicant would be working with autism, learning difficulties, ADHD and complex needs. There may be some behavioural needs and personal care would be required. The children require consistent, nurturing support to help them access learning, develop communication and social skills, and feel safe and engaged throughout the school day.
The school is looking for caring, patient, and proactive individuals who can build positive, trusting relationships and adapt their approach to meet each child's individual needs.
Alongside your 1:1 responsibilities, you may also be asked to assist with:
• Small group interventions
• General classroom support within the Reception setting
• Supporting children during playtimes, lunchtimes, and transition periods
• Preparing and adapting learning resources to meet individual needs
