**Job Responsibilities:**
- Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs and disabilities in a classroom setting, under the direction of the class teacher.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to meet each student's specific needs.
- Encourage and assist students with their educational and social development, enabling them to get the most out of their learning experience.
- Facilitate small group sessions and one-to-one support where necessary.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to the teacher and contributing to student assessments.
- Adapt classroom materials and methods to suit individual learning styles and abilities.
- Assist with the general well-being of students, including supporting them with personal care tasks if required.
- Help to manage classroom behavior, promoting positive behavior and dealing with any issues as they arise.
- Participate in school meetings and training sessions to continually develop professional skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with other members of staff, parents, and external agencies to support student development and well-being.

**Requirements:**
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working with children with SEND in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of current educational practices and a strong understanding of SEND strategies and frameworks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, resilience, and a positive attitude.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- A DBS check will be required for this position.

- Team-Teach or similar behavior management training.
- Experience with specific interventions such as Makaton, PECS, or others relevant to SEND.
