Teaching Assistant – Primary School, Andover
Pay: £90–£95 per day
Hours: Full-time
Axcis Education is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Andover. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for supporting young learners, particularly those with additional needs, to help them grow both academically and emotionally in a nurturing school environment.
What We’re Looking For:
• Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting (essential)
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND, especially SEMH needs (essential)
• A valid child-enhanced DBS on the Update Service—or willingness to apply through Axcis
• A genuine interest in helping young people succeed and enjoy their learning
• A reliable, flexible, and proactive approach to working as part of a team
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
• Supporting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
• Providing targeted support to individuals and small groups when needed
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
• Helping create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Promoting pupils’ social, emotional, and mental wellbeing
• Working closely with school staff and following safeguarding and school policies at all times
Experience Desired:
• Background in supporting children in schools (professional or personal experience considered)
• Knowledge of supporting pupils with SEMH or other SEND needs
• Experience working with primary-aged pupils is an advantage
