Technical Sales Manager
Company Profile
Our Client has a world-wide reputation in optics and photonics. For over 40 years, we have been at the forefront of the development and manufacture of scientific instrumentation. Customers include industrial R&D, production and quality departments, universities, research establishments, hospitals and national metrology institutes.

The Role
I am currently seeking a customer and technology focussed Technical Sales Manager to join the team. The main focus of the role will be to develop sales of standard and bespoke products. This role will ideally suit a degree qualified scientist/physicist seeking the opportunity to further their career in sales. Full product training will be given but an appreciation of Scientific or Optics or Laboratory equipment will be necessary.

Key Responsibilities

-Primary contact for direct sales enquiries
-Write and present sales proposals, respond to tenders
-System Design and Configuration
-Manage and log activity in our sales CRM system
-Demonstrate our products over a wide range of applications
-Assist with exhibiting our products at trade shows and scientific conferences
-Work closely with the marketing department to identify opportunities

Desired Skills and Experience
-Degree qualified in a science or engineering discipline preferably Physics based.
-Experience in the photonics or optical metrology advantageous
-Excellent communication skills in person, on the phone, and in writing
-Able to convey complex information in a clear manner
-Able to establish and maintain strong client relationships throughout the sales-cycle
-Have an enthusiastic nature and an outgoing personality with energy and drive



The post will be based at offices in Berkshire but you will be occasionally required to undertake travel abroad. A strong salary is offered along with a generous performance related bonus, 23 days holiday (rising to 25 days), company-funded personal pension scheme and a death in service benefit.
