Junior Quantity Surveyor - Construction - Office Based -
Our client, a prominent player in the Construction industry, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team in Coventry. This is a full-time, permanent position, offering an attractive salary and benefits package.
**Position Overview:**
As a Junior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in the management of small construction projects. Your responsibilities will include monitoring costs, project progress, quality, and ensuring projects are completed within budget and on time.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Project Management:** Assist in the management of small construction projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely completion.
- **Project Review:** Conduct regular reviews of ongoing projects, identifying potential cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.
- **Tenders and Enquiries:** Prepare and review tender documents and enquiries, collaborating with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive bids.
- **Client Interaction:** Maintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders, promptly addressing queries and concerns.
- **Problem Resolution:** Actively participate in problem-solving activities, identifying and addressing issues that may arise during construction projects, and facilitating dispute resolution.
- **Cost Control:** Monitor project costs, track variations, and assist in the preparation of cost reports to ensure financial viability.
- **Documentation:** Maintain accurate records of project-related documentation, including contracts, change orders, and correspondence.
**Qualifications and Experience:**
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant construction industry experience, particularly in project management or small project estimation.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- High level of IT literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Packages (Word, Excel).
- Valid UK/EU driving license with access to your own vehicle.
