Trainee Teaching Assistant – Mainstream Primary School (Bolton)

About the Role
Your responsibilities will include:
• Assisting teachers with classroom management and lesson delivery
• Supporting pupils’ learning and development in literacy, numeracy, and other subjects

• Encouraging positive behaviour and contributing to a safe, welcoming classroom environment
• Supporting individual or small groups of pupils with additional learning needs
This role is ideal for individuals with experience working with children in any setting, including youth clubs, sports coaching, mentoring, volunteering, or childcare. Previous classroom experience is helpful but not essential.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
• Experience or evidence of working with children, even outside a classroom setting
• A genuine interest in supporting children’s learning and development
• Enthusiasm, reliability, and a proactive approach
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• A willingness to learn from teaching staff and take direction
• An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
No formal teaching assistant qualifications are required, making this role perfect for school leavers, career changers, or anyone seeking practical experience in education.
