Description
A leading international financial services provider is seeking a seasoned compliance professional to take on the role of Vice President, MLRO & MLCO within its Guernsey office. This senior leadership role involves managing all aspects of the jurisdiction’s anti-financial crime framework, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory obligations and maintaining the firm's strong reputation with local authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Receive, assess and externalise Internal Disclosure Reports (IDRs), and respond to production orders and other requests from the Financial Intelligence Service (FIS).
• Oversee financial crime-related Compliance Validation Tests and escalate any issues where required.
• Lead the review and update of the Business Risk Assessment.
• Respond to enquiries from regulatory bodies including the GFSC, Income Tax Authorities, and the States of Guernsey Policy & Resources Committee.
• Review and approve high-risk clients and ensure all applicable sanction notices are adhered to.
• Develop and deliver AML/CFT training to employees, and identify gaps or emerging training needs.
• Review compliance policies to ensure alignment with current regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and present MLRO and MLCO reports at Board and Committee meetings.
• Submit financial crime returns to the GFSC.
• Serve as a key member of governance committees including the Local Reputational Risk Committee, Executive Committee and Risk Committee.
• Provide ongoing guidance to employees on financial crime matters, drawing on a secure relationship with the GFSC and FIS.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
• At least 10 years of relevant financial crime experience within financial services.
• In-depth knowledge of the financial crime landscape and evolving regulatory expectations.
• Senior management-level experience with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A secure and established working relationship with local regulatory authorities.
• Proven ability to assess complex issues and exercise sound judgement.
• Experience in delivering AML/CFT training and guiding institutional policy.
