Description
Axcis Education are proud to partner with an alternative provision in Bristol that specialises in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September, working with Key Stage 4 pupils who face significant SEMH challenges and behavioural difficulties.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant in this setting, you will:
• Provide tailored support to pupils, both 1:1 and in small groups, helping them engage with learning and overcome barriers.
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver individualised learning plans.
• Use strategies such as de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
• Build strong, positive relationships with students, acting as a mentor and role model.
The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone who:
• Has experience working with young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour.
• Is resilient, empathetic, and calm under pressure.
• Can build strong relationships with both pupils and staff.
• Holds relevant qualifications (e.g. Team Teach, Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) – though this is not essential, as full training can be provided.
Why Join Us?
• A fulfilling role supporting some of the most vulnerable young people in education.
• A supportive and collaborative team environment.
• Access to ongoing professional development opportunities through Axcis Education.
Working Hours:
Full-time, Monday to Friday, term-time only.
Start Date: September 2025
How to Apply:
If you’re passionate about making a difference and feel you have the skills to support students with SEMH needs, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now to take the next step in your career.
