Youth Mental Health Support Worker
Location: Bath, BA2 (Driving Essential – Rural School Location)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm (Term Time Only)
Contract: Full-time and part-time opportunities available
Pay: £92.63 per day, depending on experience
Start Date: September 2026

Axcis Education is recruiting caring, resilient and enthusiastic individuals to join a specialist school near Bath, supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, autism, ADHD and additional learning needs.

**Due to the school's rural location, a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential**

This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to move into education from care, youth work, coaching or mental health support. You'll become a trusted adult, helping pupils build confidence, regulate their emotions and overcome barriers to learning in a supportive and nurturing environment.

The Role
As a Youth Mental Health Support Worker, you will:
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support children to regulate emotions and develop positive coping strategies.
• Encourage engagement with learning and classroom activities.
• Promote confidence, resilience and independence.
• Support pupils with SEMH, autism, ADHD and additional needs.
• Work alongside teachers, therapists and pastoral staff to provide consistent support.

Experience We Value
You don't need previous school experience. We'd love to hear from you if you've worked in:
• Youth work or mentoring.
• Residential care or children's care settings.
• Mental health support or healthcare.
• Support work or care work.
• Sports coaching or outdoor education.
• Nurseries or childcare.
• Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, Sports, Education or Childhood Studies graduates.
• Or if you have personal experience supporting someone with additional needs.
