The Opportunity:
Kenton Black Finance are currently recruiting for a full-time and permanent Accounts Assistant on behalf of a business that is based in Carlisle. This company has a turnover of circa 900 million pounds, and has been operating for over 40 years. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the accounts department. Working closely with the Assistant Accountant and Accountant, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day transactional accounting tasks, supporting accurate financial reporting, and contributing to the success of the business.
Please note, this is an office based job.

Your New Role as the Accounts Assistant:
- Checking and re-allocating nominal postings
- Coding of Purchase Invoices
- Credit Control?
- Completing and checking of mileage logs
- Ledger Maintenance – ensuring Sales and Purchase Ledgers are tidy
- Initiating Monthly Run and paying Inter Company Accounts
- Checking and allocating Manufacturer commission
- Stock counts
- Responsible for Petty Cash
- Daily Banking
Experience, Skills and Qualifications Required to Apply:
- Sales ledger, purchase ledger, and credit control experience (ESSENTIAL)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills (ESSENTIAL)
- IT literate (ESSENTIAL)
- General office / administration experience (ESSENTIAL)
- Effective time management and attention to detail (ESSENTIAL)
- AAT qualification would be desirable but not essential?
