Role Summary
This entry-level role is ideal for a numerically talented individual with an interest in actuarial work and financial analysis. The successful candidate will assist with the preparation of core financial results for both internal and external stakeholders, undertake technical modelling and data analysis, and contribute to the identification and management of financial and operational risks.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare calculations for reserves, solvency, capital, new business profit, and forecasts.
• Assist in drafting reports summarising financial results and explain deviations from expectations.
• Support the maintenance and development of actuarial models and tools.
• Perform data extraction, validation and analysis from policy databases.
• Contribute to investigations and risk assessments as directed by senior actuaries.
• Provide technical actuarial and financial support to internal and external teams.
• Collaborate with both the actuarial and finance functions across jurisdictions.
What You’ll Need
• A strong academic background:
o A-Level Mathematics grade A or above (min 260 UCAS points), or
o A 2:1 or higher degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related subject.
• Demonstrated ability in Excel, including use of formulae and functions.
• Willingness to learn Power Query, Power BI, and actuarial modelling tools.
• Logical and systematic thinker with keen attention to detail.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Clear communicator with the ability to simplify complex information.
• Self-motivated and able to manage workload independently.
• A genuine interest in progressing through actuarial or financial exams.
