Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
• Reviewing mortgage and loan applications, liaising with clients via email or telephone to provide timely responses within agreed service levels.
• Acting as a credit advisor to both internal stakeholders and clients, assessing client structures and developing tailored credit solutions.
• Overseeing the review and renewal of existing credit facilities to ensure continued suitability.
• Preparing and presenting lending cases to the bank’s Credit Committee.
• Supporting fellow Lending Officers in the approval and conclusion of facilities they underwrite.
• Collaborating with key departments, including Credit Risk and Credit Operations, to ensure credit facilities align with risk appetite and regulatory expectations.
• Embedding a culture of risk management into new product design and case submissions.
• Identifying opportunities for improvement and contributing to the refinement of lending procedures and processes.
• Supporting the delivery of corporate lending targets and objectives.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have at least two years’ experience in banking, finance or lending, with a strong commitment to delivering excellent client service. They will be highly organised, detail-focused, and capable of working efficiently in a busy front-office environment. Strong administrative skills, the ability to communicate clearly, and a proactive, co-operative approach are essential. A willingness to pursue relevant professional qualifications, such as CeMAP, is expected.
