Axcis Education is delighted to be working in partnership with an all-through SEND provision in Torbay, supporting students of all ages with a range of needs, including ASD (including non-verbal), down syndrome, physical disabilities, ADHD, and personal care needs.
Position Details:
Role: SEND Teaching Assistant
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:50am – 3:00pm
Pay: £13.65–£15 per hour (dependent on SEND experience and qualifications)
Contract: Likely to become permanent after a successful trial period

What You Will Do:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
-Support students with diverse needs in their learning and personal development
-Provide assistance with personal care where required
-Help maintain a calm, safe, and engaging environment
-Use initiative to adapt to students’ needs and work proactively within the team
-Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils and staff
What We’re Looking For:
? Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND (experience with ASD and/or complex needs desirable)
? A calm, patient, and resilient approach
? Flexibility to support students across different age groups and needs? Excellent communication skills and confidence in building relationships
? Proactive, able to use your initiative, and motivated to make a difference
