Student Needs: Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) & Challenging Behaviours

Are you passionate about supporting young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours? We are looking for a Behaviour Mentor to join a dedicated team at an SEND school in Bromley. This is an opportunity to positively impact students' behaviour, well-being, and academic progress by providing tailored support in a structured and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Supporting secondary students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours, helping them regulate emotions and develop positive coping strategies.
Implementing behaviour management strategies to de-escalate challenging situations and encourage positive choices.
Acting as a role model and mentor, helping students build confidence, resilience, and self-esteem.
Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support students’ engagement in learning and personal development.
Providing one-to-one and small group mentoring to help students develop social, emotional, and academic skills.
Creating a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment that promotes positive interactions and personal growth.
Working Hours:
Monday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Tuesday & Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Thursday: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

The Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with SEMH students or in a SEND setting (preferred but not essential).
Strong behaviour management skills with the ability to de-escalate and manage challenging situations effectively.
A calm, patient, and resilient approach to mentoring and supporting students.
Ability to build trusting relationships and positively influence young people.
Passion for helping students develop essential life skills, emotional regulation, and positive behaviours.
