Description

Candidates will be expected to display empathy, resilience and a consistent positive attitude, contributing to a warm and respectful care culture.

Key Responsibilities
• Support residents with daily living activities, ensuring privacy, choice, and dignity.
• Assist those with dementia by understanding life histories and responding empathetically.
• Provide comfort and reassurance to residents who walk with purpose during day and night hours.
• Monitor residents regularly in accordance with their care plans.
• Offer mobility support and encourage use of personal aids.
• Collaborate with Team Leaders and Senior Carers when necessary.
• Take on Key Worker responsibilities.
• Ensure clothing is regularly laundered and maintained.
• Assist with meals, drinks and support residents during mealtimes.
• Help maintain tidy and comfortable living environments, including residents' rooms and communal areas.
• Encourage residents to participate in maintaining their space, respecting individual needs and choices.
• Promote mental and physical stimulation through various activities.
• Maintain accurate notes and records for care plans.
• Share relevant information across shift handovers.
• Monitor the building’s safety and attend to visitors professionally.
• Support families, friends, and visitors, ensuring communication remains respectful and resident-focused.
• Identify and raise any concerns to senior staff.
• Continue professional development through mandatory and optional training.
• Answer telephone calls professionally and take messages accurately.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have at least two years' relevant experience, be working towards or hold a Care Certificate, and demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills. While a minimum of two years’ relevant experience is typically required, this criterion does not apply to candidates who already hold their own Employment Permit. A caring, compassionate, and respectful approach is essential, along with a genuine interest in elderly care. Knowledge of confidentiality practices and commitment to Health and Safety regulations is also required.
