Description

Our client is seeking a senior internal audit professional to oversee the full scope of audit activities within a regulated financial services group based in Guernsey. This is a strategic leadership position requiring regular engagement with executive management and the Audit Committee, making it essential that the post-holder demonstrates excellent communication, organisational insight, and governance expertise.

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
• Developing and delivering the annual internal audit plan, in alignment with the Group Head of Internal Audit.
• Conducting annual risk assessments and leading the execution of financial and operational risk-based audits.
• Managing internal audits to ensure compliance with internal policies, Group methodology, and industry best practices.
• Presenting findings and recommending remediation actions to senior stakeholders and the Audit Committee.
• Managing audit issues through to closure, including validation of actions taken.
• Supervising an internal auditor and overseeing audit deliverables.
• Acting as the key liaison for the Guernsey Executive Committee and communicating regularly with the C-suite.
• Collaborating closely with the Group Head of Internal Audit to maintain consistency in audit approach and governance standards.
• Leading investigations as required and contributing to regulator reporting processes.
• Preparing high-quality MI and Committee reports in a timely manner.

The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will hold a recognised professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIIA) and bring significant experience in internal audit, preferably within financial services. A strong understanding of internal controls, governance, and risk management is essential. The ability to influence at a senior level and develop constructive relationships with stakeholders is critical. Experience in auditing information technology and data analytics is desirable, as is familiarity with regulatory and fraud risk environments.
