Axcis is currently working very closely with an ASD-specific all-age special school in Kings Heath. This is a school with a big heart who are looking for staff who will foster their values of "team work, equality, happiness, confidence and kindness".
This role will be classroom-based, supporting individuals with a lead diagnosis of Autism (ASD) with range of different needs such as sensory processing, challenging behaviour and communication delays including non-verbal communication. This position is for an Autism specific all-age SEND school in the Kings Heath area.
While the school is happy to accept applications from candidates with previous school experience this is not essential. The school will also consider individuals with personal life experience and/or professional experience from the health and/or social care sector.
Job details:
• Supporting pupils Autistic Learner,s comprising of mixed needs such as sensory processing, challenging behaviour and communication delays including non-verbal communication
• Working on a one to one and small group basis
• Full time (8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday)
• Ongoing basis, starting September 2025
Requirements:
• Experience of supporting individuals with Autism including sensory processing, challenging behaviour and communication delays including non-verbal communication - Essential
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service required or we’re happy to carry out a new one ahead of you starting the position – Essential
• Minimum of 2 references covering the past 12 months – Essential
