Description
A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Ilford is seeking a dedicated and nurturing EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.
This role is based within the Early Years Foundation Stage and involves providing targeted support for pupils with additional needs. You will be working closely with two children with complex SEND requirements, helping them access learning, develop communication skills and engage positively within the school environment.
The Role:
• Supporting children within an EYFS classroom in a mainstream primary setting
• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
• Working with two children who are currently non-verbal and require a high level of support
• Managing and monitoring risks associated with a choking hazard, following care plans and school procedures
• Supporting children's communication, social interaction and emotional development
• Working collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate:
• Previous experience supporting children with SEND, preferably within EYFS or primary settings
• Experience working with non-verbal children and/or pupils with complex needs is highly desirable
• Patient, compassionate and proactive approach
• Comfortable supporting children with varying additional needs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A passion for helping every child reach their full potential
Contract Details:
• Located in Ilford
• Monday to Friday - 8.15am-3.15pm
• Contract initially extended on a half-termly basis
• Highly likely to become a long-term placement for the right candidate
