Reports To: Executive Chef / Head Chef
We’re working with a well-established hotel looking for an experienced Events & Banqueting Chef to take ownership of all thing’s events food. This is a hands-on role at the heart of a busy operation, delivering everything from large weddings and conferences to private functions and special events.

The Role
As Events & Banqueting Chef, you’ll be responsible for the planning, preparation and delivery of food across the hotel’s events and banqueting operation. You’ll work closely with the Executive / Head Chef, events team and wider kitchen to ensure every function runs smoothly and every plate leaves the kitchen to standard.
This is a role for someone who is calm under pressure, highly organised, and confident running large-scale service.
Key Responsibilities
• Events Food Delivery
• Plan, prepare and execute menus for weddings, conferences, meetings and special events
• Deliver food to tight service schedules while maintaining quality and consistency
• Ensure strong standards of presentation, portion control and flavour across all events
• Cater confidently for dietary requirements, allergies and special requests
Kitchen & Event Operations
• Coordinate with the main kitchen and front-of-house teams during events
• Lead and support kitchen staff during busy services and large functions
• Manage prep, equipment and stock efficiently for high-volume events
• Support menu costing, portion planning and waste control
Menu Development
• Assist with the creation of seasonal, well-structured banqueting menus
• Take part in tastings and event planning meetings
• Keep menus relevant, practical and suited to large-scale service
Health, Safety & Standards
• Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards
• Ensure HACCP procedures are followed at all times
• Keep the events kitchen clean, organised and service-ready
Teamwork & Communication
• Work closely with events, banqueting and sales teams to deliver smooth events
• Communicate clearly with front-of-house during service
• Support, train and mentor junior chefs as required
The Ideal Candidate
You’ll need:
• Proven experience as an Events, Banqueting or Conference Chef
• Strong knowledge of large-scale food production and service
• The ability to stay organised and focused in a fast-paced environment
• A solid understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
It would be great if you also have:
• A professional chef qualification
• Experience in hotels or high-volume event venues
• A creative but practical approach to menu planning
