Job Title: EYFS Teaching Assistant

Location: Bolton, Lancashire

Job Type: Full Time

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team at a friendly and inclusive school in Bolton, Lancashire. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early years education and a commitment to supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

- Work closely with the EYFS teacher to plan and deliver engaging activities that support the development of children in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Provide tailored support to children with a variety of SEN, ensuring they have equal access to learning opportunities.
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the setup of the learning environment.
- Observe and record children’s progress, sharing findings with the EYFS teacher and SENCO as required.
- Support the social and emotional development of pupils, fostering a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Assist with the personal care needs of children when necessary, such as during meal times or toileting, maintaining their dignity and fostering independence.
- Encourage pupils to engage in learning through play and structured activities.
- Help manage classroom behavior, implementing the school's behavior policy.
- Participate in staff meetings, training days, and school events as required.
- Liaise with parents/carers and other professionals involved in the children's education to support their learning and development.

Qualifications and Skills:

- NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in Childcare and Education or Support Teaching and Learning.
- Experience in an EYFS setting and working with children with SEN.
- Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and the ability to apply it effectively in the classroom.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
- A patient, caring, and creative personality, with a strong commitment to inclusive education.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo checks).
