Job Title: Flexible School Support Worker (Secondary Schools)
Location: Taunton and Surrounding Areas
Pay Rate: £92.00 – £109.00 per day
Job Type: Flexible / Supply – Term Time Only
Hours: School hours (typically 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday)

We are recruiting Flexible School Support Workers to work across a range of secondary schools, primary and Special Needs schools, supporting students in the classroom and beyond.

About the Role:

This is a varied and rewarding position where no two days are the same. You’ll have the opportunity to work in different school settings, supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
The role may involve supporting students with additional needs, including social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, helping them stay engaged, manage behaviour, and access their learning.
You can choose when you work, making this an ideal role for those seeking flexibility while gaining valuable experience in education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students in lessons on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Help manage behaviour and encourage positive engagement
• Assist teachers in creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
• Support students with additional needs, including SEMH
• Adapt to different school environments and build positive relationships quickly
• Provide general classroom and pastoral support as required

Who We’re Looking For:

• A positive, adaptable, and reliable individual
• Someone who enjoys working with young people and making a difference
• No formal TA experience required, but you must have experience with children or young people, such as:
o Youth work
o Care or support work
o Coaching or mentoring
o Volunteering
o Personal experience supporting additional needs
• Confidence supporting students with additional or complex needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A willingness to learn and get involved
