**Job Title: Graduate Teaching Assistant - EYFS**

**Location: Middleton, Greater Manchester**

**Hours: Full-Time (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm)**

**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our EYFS team at a friendly and supportive school in Middleton, Greater Manchester. The ideal candidate will be working on a 1:1 basis with a child who has suspected autism and ADHD. This is a unique opportunity for a graduate to gain valuable experience in a hands-on teaching environment while making a significant difference in the life of a young child.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide targeted support to a child with special needs, focusing on helping them achieve developmental milestones.
- Engage with the child actively, both indoors and outdoors, to encourage learning through play.
- Understand and apply the principles of the EYFS curriculum in daily activities.
- Contribute positively to the learning and development of the child by working collaboratively with the class teacher and special education needs coordinator (SENCO).
- Be vigilant and proactive in managing challenging behaviours that may be related to autism and ADHD.
- Assist with personal care requirements as and when they arise, ensuring the child's wellbeing at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of the child’s progress and any areas for concern, to be shared with parents and the school’s senior leadership team.
- Attend professional meetings and training sessions as required to develop your understanding of special educational needs and the EYFS curriculum.

**Requirements:**
- A university graduate with a strong academic background.
- Prior UK-based experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Specific experience in supporting children with special needs is essential.
- Possess a strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach to working with children.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors and participate in active play.
- Current DBS on the update service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, staff and parents.
