This is a senior leadership opportunity to join a leading offshore professional services firm, overseeing compliance for its Guernsey-based law firm and regulated entities. As Head of Guernsey Compliance & MLRO, you will hold key regulatory positions as MLCO and MLRO, while leading a high-performing compliance function and contributing to global Risk & Compliance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as MLCO and MLRO for Guernsey entities, managing financial crime risks, suspicious activity reporting, and regulatory relationships.
• Lead the delivery and development of the Guernsey Compliance Programme in alignment with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Provide high-level compliance advisory support to senior stakeholders, aligned to the firm’s risk appetite.
• Draft and present board-level compliance reports, offering clear risk insights and strategic recommendations.
• Deliver AML/CFT training across the business and lead financial crime prevention efforts.
• Conduct horizon scanning to monitor and respond to evolving regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with global Risk & Compliance teams, General Counsel, and business service functions.
• Lead and develop the Guernsey compliance team, with scope for future team expansion.
• Promote a strong culture of compliance and proactive risk management throughout the organisation.
The Ideal Candidate:
• Proven experience in a senior compliance, risk, or operational control role within a regulated financial or corporate services business.
• Prior experience as an MLRO and MLCO is essential.
• Expert-level understanding of Guernsey’s regulatory environment, particularly across fiduciary and investment services.
• Skilled in stakeholder engagement, regulatory liaison, and cross-jurisdictional collaboration.
• Confident delivering board-level compliance reporting and data-driven risk analysis.
• Experienced in compliance monitoring, financial crime frameworks, and regulatory change management.
• Collaborative leadership style with the ability to foster team development and influence culture at all levels.
