People Officer (15-Month FTC – Maternity Cover)
Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days home, with flexibility)
Up to £35,000 per annum
Flexi-hours (7:30am–6:00pm window, 7.5-hour day) + 3pm finish on Fridays
Location: Central Hertfordshire
Start date: End of May / early June 2026

Resouricng4HR are delighted to share we are actively looking for a proactive and detail-oriented People Officer to join our client's HR team on a 15-month fixed-term maternity cover contract, starting end of May / early June 2026.
Reporting into the Head of HR, you’ll be part of a collaborative team of four (including one US-based colleague), supporting a workforce of around 260 employees. This is a varied role that blends HR administration with developing advisory responsibilities, offering a great opportunity to grow your HR career while making a real impact on employee experience.

The Role
As People Officer, you’ll provide administrative, operational and first-line advisory support across the full employee lifecycle.

HR Operations & Administration:
Maintain accurate employee records on HRIS in line with GDPR
Draft contracts, letters, and employment documentation
Coordinate onboarding, inductions and new starter experience
Manage family leave processes and leaver administration
Administer employee benefits (pension, PMI, life assurance, Perkbox, Cycle Scheme, company cars)
Maintain HR trackers and complete company documentation
Provide notetaking support for key HR meetings

Payroll & Reporting:
Support monthly payroll collation and liaise with Finance
Produce HR reports (headcount, absence, attrition)
Conduct salary benchmarking for pay reviews

Recruitment & Talent:
Coordinate recruitment activity (advertising, scheduling, candidate comms)
Manage agency relationships and direct hiring
Support hiring managers with job descriptions
Participate in interviews as a People representative
Deliver HR inductions and HRIS training

People Support & Advisory:
Act as first point of contact for employee and manager queries
Provide guidance on policies and procedures
Support development and updating of HR policies
Promote company values and positive culture

Learning & Engagement:
Support L&D activities and training coordination
Assist with engagement initiatives, surveys and wellbeing activities
Produce internal newsletters with Marcomms
Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement

About You:
CIPD Level 3 (or working towards)
Degree in HR, Business, Psychology or similar
Payroll collation experience
Knowledge of UK employment law
Previous HR experience (Administrator or Officer level)
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Good Microsoft Office skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
A proactive, problem-solving mindset
