Description
The company is a specialist smart home integrator, delivering high-end residential AV, home automation, networking and lighting control solutions for luxury homes across Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas. Due to continued growth, they are now looking for an experienced AV Installation Engineer to join their expanding team.
This is a hands-on installation and commissioning role, ideal for someone with a strong background in residential AV and smart home technology. You will be working on premium private client projects, supporting installations from first fix through to final commissioning, while ensuring every system is delivered to a high technical standard and with excellent attention to detail.
What you'll be doing
• Carrying out 1st and 2nd fix AV installations across high-end residential properties.
• Installing, commissioning and supporting smart home systems, including home automation, audio visual, networking and lighting control technologies.
• Programming and configuring Control4 and Lutron systems to meet client and project requirements.
• Working from technical drawings, project specifications and installation schedules to deliver accurate, tidy and reliable installations.
• Testing, fault-finding and troubleshooting systems to ensure smooth handover and long-term performance.
• Liaising professionally with clients, project managers, contractors and other trades while working on site.
• Maintaining excellent standards of workmanship, presentation and customer service at all times.
We're looking for someone with
• Previous experience installing residential AV, smart home or home automation systems.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of 1st and 2nd fix installation work.
• Confident Control4 programming and configuration experience.
• Lutron programming experience, ideally within high-end residential environments.
• A good understanding of audio, video, networking, lighting control and related smart home technologies.
• The ability to work independently or as part of a team on live residential projects.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and pride in delivering a high-quality finish.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional approach when working in clients’ homes.
• A full UK driving licence.
