Description

A well-regarded all-boys secondary school in Hounslow is seeking a professional and highly organised Receptionist to join its front office team. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, and offers the chance to become a key part of the school community.

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for parents, visitors, staff, and students, and will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of daily operations. The role requires excellent communication skills, a welcoming manner, and the ability to remain calm and efficient in a busy school environment.

Applicants must hold an enhanced DBS certificate (or be willing to apply for one) and have previous experience working as a receptionist, ideally within a school or educational setting. Strong IT skills, including confidence with Microsoft Office packages and management information systems, are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Acting as the first point of contact for visitors, staff, parents, and students

Managing phone calls, emails, and general enquiries in a professional and timely manner

Maintaining visitor logs and safeguarding procedures at all times

Assisting with administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of the school

Liaising with teaching and support staff to ensure efficient communication across departments

Requirements:

Proven experience as a receptionist or front-of-house professional (school experience highly desirable)

Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)

Excellent organisational and time-management skills

Strong IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and database systems

Professional, approachable, and able to manage a busy workload with efficiency
