You will be working with students aged 11–16, many of whom may have experienced disrupted education, challenging circumstances or difficulties engaging within a mainstream school environment. Your role will be focused on building positive relationships, providing consistent support and helping students feel safe, confident and ready to learn.

What Will You Be Doing?
Working alongside teachers and other professionals, you will provide support both in and outside the classroom. The role will involve:

• Helping students engage with their learning
• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour
• Building positive and trusting relationships with young people
• Encouraging students to develop confidence, resilience and independence
• Providing a calm, consistent and supportive presence
• Supporting positive social interactions
• Working closely with teachers, therapists and other members of the school team
• Helping create a safe and inclusive environment where students can thrive

What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is patient, empathetic and reliable, with a genuine interest in supporting young people with additional needs.
Previous experience working with SEND, SEMH or behavioural needs would be beneficial, but transferable experience from areas such as education, youth work, social care, psychology, care or support work will also be considered.

You will ideally have:
• Experience working with children or young people
• An understanding of SEND and/or SEMH needs
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
• A positive and non-judgemental approach
• A willingness to learn and develop your SEND knowledge
• A genuine desire to help young people achieve their potential

What We Offer
This is a rewarding opportunity to gain valuable experience within a specialist school while making a genuine difference to the lives of young people.
You will be joining a supportive and dedicated team with opportunities for training, development and ongoing professional support.
The role includes:
• Full-time, term-time working
• Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
• £93–£95 per day
• Immediate start
• Supportive specialist school environment
• Training and professional development opportunities
• The chance to develop valuable SEND experience
