Reporting to the .Net Team Lead, the successful candidate will join an experienced development team and take responsibility for the development, maintenance, and third-line support of a suite of .Net applications. Applicants should hold a degree in Computer Science, have at least five years’ experience in .Net development, demonstrate strong technical expertise in relevant technologies, and possess excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain Microsoft .Net applications in line with business and technical requirements.
• Provide third-line support for a wide range of production systems.
• Collaborate across Infrastructure, Change, and Service Delivery teams to resolve issues and implement improvements.
• Ensure all development aligns with architectural and security standards.
• Analyse complex systems and their integration points with other platforms.
• Deliver quality, secure, and maintainable code within agreed timeframes.
• Prepare and manage release processes for both non-production and production environments.
• Contribute to the automation of release and deployment pipelines where feasible.
• Provide knowledge handovers and support documentation for application support teams.
• Participate in project delivery and offer input into strategic development initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate
• Degree-qualified in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience developing .Net applications.
• Proven ability in C#, VB.Net, SQL, WCF/Web API, MVC, SSRS, SSIS.
• Experience using Git, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Clear and confident communicator, able to work across teams and with stakeholders.
• Able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Desirable: exposure to Agile, Blazor, D365, automated testing, or financial services systems.
• Microsoft certification or equivalent is advantageous.
