£30,000 – £32,000 + tips | 40–45 hours | 5 days over 7
We’re working with a well-established 4-star countryside hotel in Skelmersdale, offering a fantastic opportunity for a Sous Chef to join a calm, professional and well-run kitchen team.
The hotel has a strong focus on corporate dining, conferences, weddings and private events, alongside daily restaurant service. The food offering is a balanced mix of fresh prep and quality pre-prepared produce, allowing consistency and efficiency without unnecessary pressure.
This is a genuinely supportive environment with a no ego culture, where teamwork and consistency matter more than hierarchy or shouting.
The Role
• Supporting the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations
• Preparing and delivering consistent, well-presented dishes across service and events
• Maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and organisation
• Running sections confidently during quieter shifts with autonomy
• Assisting with stock control, prep planning and kitchen coordination
• Working closely as part of a small, reliable and friendly team
What We’re Looking For
• Experience as a Sous Chef or a strong CDP ready to step up
• Background in hotel, banqueting or fresh food kitchens
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team
• Calm, reliable and consistent under pressure
• Strong attention to detail and pride in delivery
What’s On Offer
• £30,000 – £32,000 basic salary + tips
• Excellent work-life balance for hospitality
• Supportive team culture – no egos, no drama
• Free staff meals on shift
• Discounts across food, drink and hotel stays within the group
• Training and genuine development opportunities
• Stable, long-term opportunity in a well-run kitchen
This is ideal for a Sous Chef who wants stability, a good team environment, and a role where you’re trusted to do your job well without unnecessary pressure.
