Axcis Education are working closely with a specialist setting seeking student support assistants.
About the Setting:
This specialist day college supports young people aged 16 to 25 with complex physical and learning disabilities. The setting offers personalised education programmes focused on developing independence and essential life skills. Students benefit from integrated therapies including speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and emotional wellbeing support.

The Role:
We are seeking Student Support Assistants to work on a flexible, short-term basis to help meet the needs of this specialist setting. This is a highly rewarding, hands-on role supporting young adults with complex needs in both educational and therapeutic environments.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing one-to-one and small group support
Assisting with personal care, including toileting, feeding, and mobility support
Supporting learners to access education, therapy sessions, and life-skills activities
Accompanying students during off-site learning or community-based placements
Promoting independence and wellbeing
Communicating effectively with tutors, therapists, and families
Maintaining clear and accurate records of student progress
Candidate Requirements:
Experience supporting individuals with additional or complex needs (personal, voluntary or professional)
A compassionate, person-centred approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Flexibility and reliability
Willingness to assist with personal care
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable young people
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)
