With a late October / November 2026 start available, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Support Worker looking to develop their career within secondary education.

You will be working alongside an experienced teaching and SEND team, providing tailored support to students with a range of additional needs and helping ensure they can access learning in a positive and inclusive environment.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and SEMH needs.
• Helping students access the curriculum and adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Supporting literacy, numeracy, organisation and classroom engagement.
• Building positive, trusting relationships and encouraging confidence, resilience and independence.
• Supporting the implementation of EHCPs and individual learning strategies.
• Promoting positive behaviour and supporting students with their emotional and social development.
• Working collaboratively with teachers and the wider SEND team to monitor progress and identify areas for further support.
• Helping create a safe, inclusive and encouraging learning environment.

• Have experience supporting children or young people with SEND, whether in a school, care, residential or youth work setting.
• Are patient, approachable, adaptable and resilient.
• Can build positive relationships with young people while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Are confident supporting students across different subjects, abilities and learning environments.
• Have an understanding of additional needs such as autism, ADHD, communication difficulties and SEMH.
• Understand the importance of safeguarding, inclusion and promoting student wellbeing.
• Are proactive and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

Previous experience within a secondary school or specialist SEND setting would be beneficial. However, we are also keen to hear from candidates with relevant transferable experience who are looking to move into education.
