Full Time - Teaching Assistant - New Brighton - From £13.50 per hour
Axcis Education is a leading Teaching Assistant (SEND) agency working across the country to provide both short- and long-term roles in a variety of educational settings.
We are currently working with a highly regarded SEND school based in New Brighton who are seeking a full time Teaching Assistant.
This role would suit someone with experience of supporting pupils who display challenging behaviour across a range of SEND needs including: Autism and ADHD.
You will play an important role in helping students with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties to engage positively in school life.
Key responsibilities:
• Promote positive behaviour and provide consistent, supportive guidance.
• Manage incidents of challenging behaviour safely and professionally, following school safeguarding and behaviour policies.
• Support learning and engagement, adapting your approach to meet individual needs.
• Record and report observations, incidents, and progress accurately and confidentially.
• Work closely with teachers, parents/carers, and external professionals to ensure consistent support for pupils.
• Encourage emotional regulation and resilience, modelling calm, respectful, and empathetic communication.
• Help to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where all pupils feel valued and supported.
In this role you will be supporting children who have a range of special educational needs so the ideal candidate will need to have experience working or studying in a relevant field or area. If you have relevant professional or personal experience, then we want to hear from you!
What we need from you:
• At least 6 months personal or professional experience supporting adults or children with special educational needs.
OR
A certified qualification in a relevant area- education, psychology, drama etc
• A graduate teaching assistant with a patient, compassionate and positive attitude.
• Flexibility to work in school hours- contracts are usually 8:30am until 3-4:30pm Depending on the schools’ requirements
• Ability to reliably commute to settings either by driving or public transport.
