Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire

Start Date: September

Contract Type: Full-time

Daily Rate: £90

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs for a full-time position starting in September in an all-through school located in Salisbury, Wiltshire. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to pupils with SEMH, helping them to engage fully with their learning and achieve their full potential.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher to implement educational plans and strategies that meet the individual needs of students.
- Facilitate small group work and one-to-one sessions to reinforce learning and address specific learning gaps.
- Monitor and record the progress of students, providing feedback to the class teacher and making recommendations for further support if needed.
- Encourage positive behaviour and social skills by implementing the school's behaviour policy and contributing to a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and classroom arrangements to support an effective and engaging learning experience.
- Attend to the personal care needs of students when necessary, respecting their dignity and privacy at all times.
- Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to continuously improve your skills and knowledge.
- Liaise with parents, guardians, and other professionals involved in the students' welfare, maintaining a professional and supportive relationship.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within an SEMH setting or with SEN students.
- A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent) is highly advantageous.
- Empathetic and patient approach to working with children with varying needs.
- Good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Ability to keep calm and maintain professionalism under pressure.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Legally eligible to work in the UK.
