Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Frome
Setting: All-Through SEND School
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
Pay: £14.25–£15.00 per hour
Axcis Education is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant in Frome to join an all-through specialist SEND school supporting children and young people with a range of additional and complex needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for candidates with personal or professional experience supporting children or young people with SEND, additional needs, education, care or support work. You will provide personalised support and help pupils develop academically, socially and independently.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting pupils with SEND and complex learning needs
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support
• Helping pupils access learning and develop independence
• Supporting communication, social and practical skills
• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Working closely with teachers and specialist staff
• Supporting classroom, sensory and enrichment activities
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
• Personal or professional experience supporting children or young people
• A patient, caring and person-centred approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Resilience and the ability to remain calm and consistent
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
