Description

Axcis Education are proud to partner with an alternative provision in Bristol specialising in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team and work with Key Stage 4 pupils who face significant SEMH challenges and behavioural difficulties.

About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant in this setting, you will:
• Provide tailored support to pupils, both 1:1 and in small groups, helping them to engage with learning and overcome barriers.
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver individualised learning plans.
• Utilise strategies such as de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
• Foster positive relationships with students, acting as a mentor and role model.

The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone who:
• Has experience working with young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour.
• Is resilient, empathetic, and able to remain calm under pressure.
• Can build strong relationships with pupils and staff alike.
• Holds relevant qualifications (e.g., Team Teach, Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) – although these are not essential, as training can be provided.

Why Join Us?
• A fulfilling role supporting some of the most vulnerable young people in education.
• A supportive and collaborative team environment.
• Access to professional development opportunities through Axcis Education.

Working Hours:
Full-time, Monday to Friday, term-time only.

How to Apply:
If you are passionate about making a difference and believe you have the skills and experience to support students with SEMH needs, we would love to hear from you. Please apply today to take the next step in your career.
