Our client, a leading provider of Fund Administration, Private Client, and Corporate Services, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join their Finance team in Guernsey. This role is open to both full-time and part-time candidates, offering flexibility for the right person.
The Role:
The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, producing management accounts, overseeing client billing and debtors, managing supplier payments, and supporting the annual audit process. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity of the Guernsey businesses.
Key responsibilities:
• Maintain up-to-date accounting records and reconcile ledger items with supporting documentation.
• Perform daily reconciliation of bank accounts and maintain fixed asset registers, debtors, accruals, and prepayments schedules.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, annual financial statements, and other ad-hoc financial reports.
• Manage client billing, sales ledgers, and collection of outstanding fees.
• Handle supplier payments, liaising with vendors, and ensuring costs align with signed contracts.
• Assist with budget preparation, cashflow projections, and VAT reporting.
• Provide support during financial audits and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations.
• Generate and analyze financial reports using accounting software.
The successful candidate will have:
• Holds or is studying towards an accounting qualification (e.g., AAT/ACA/ACCA).
• A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with a strong understanding of general accounting principles.
• High-level competence in bookkeeping, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.
• Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
