Leading an established onsite AV team, you’ll be responsible for delivering a consistently high-quality AV service across a busy environment encompassing live events, conferences, meetings, presentations and hybrid collaboration.
This is a varied position that combines technical leadership, people management, AV strategy, and hands-on operational oversight. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, event teams, clients and technology partners while helping shape the future direction of the organisation’s AV technology and services.

The Role
As AV Manager, you will:
• Lead, motivate and develop an established team of AV Technicians.
• Take ownership of day-to-day AV operations and overall service delivery.
• Oversee AV support for live events, meetings, conferences, presentations and hybrid sessions.
• Ensure the reliable operation of professional AV, video conferencing, collaboration and digital display technologies.
• Plan AV resources and technical support around changing event and business requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve AV systems, processes and the overall user experience.
• Evaluate and recommend new AV hardware, software and emerging technologies.
• Manage technical incidents and ensure issues are investigated and resolved effectively.
• Oversee AV maintenance agreements, suppliers and third-party technology partners.
• Manage AV procurement and budgets, ensuring strong value from technology investment.
• Work closely with internal event, facilities and technology teams.
• Act as a senior AV point of contact for stakeholders and external clients.
• Provide technical guidance and training to colleagues across the organisation.
• Drive continuous improvement and maintain consistently high service standards.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced AV professional who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent leadership and customer-facing skills.
You’ll have significant experience within professional AV environments and be comfortable taking responsibility for both the technology and the people delivering the service.
Your experience should ideally include:
• Professional integrated AV systems.
• Live events and conference AV.
• Hybrid meetings and video conferencing technologies.
• AV-over-IP technologies.
• Networked and professional audio systems.
• AV control platforms.
• Supporting IT and network infrastructure.
• Managing and developing AV Technicians or Engineers.
• AV maintenance and support contracts.
• Supplier and technology partner management.
• AV procurement and budget management.
• Troubleshooting complex technical and operational issues.
• Working with senior stakeholders and external clients.
A CTS qualification or equivalent professional AV accreditation would be highly desirable.
You’ll be an organised and proactive manager who can balance longer-term technology improvements with the demands of a busy operational AV environment.
Just as importantly, you’ll be an excellent communicator who can explain technical issues clearly to non-technical audiences and remain calm and professional when supporting high-profile or time-critical events.
The Package
c.£50,000 per annum + 19% pension + excellent direct staff benefits
